The health, safety and welfare of employees is of prime importance to R & M Developments. As is the health and safety of anyone else affected directly by the company’s operations.
R & M Developments complies with all its legal obligations to ensure it provides safe and healthy working conditions for all employees and will take positive action to ensure that clients, other contractors and the general public are not adversely affected by its activities. The responsibility for ensuring safety at work policies are observed rests upon R & M Developments’ management team and it is championed throughout the organisation.
The company co-operates proactively with those who have a shared interest in health and safety including other employers, clients, subcontractors, and the enforcing authorities. The company’s award-winning training ensures that operatives are working in complete safety and goes beyond compliance to maximise safe behaviours.
The company has also also recently partnered with Proud2bSafe to support its health and safety policies and drive safe behaviours from the workforce. One of the initiatives organised with Proud2bSafe is an annual Health & Safety Day when accident survivors and experts from corporate partners present a compelling message about taking safety seriously. The day encourages significant behavioural change within our industry and represents a drive from director level to embed a strong health and safety culture and a better understanding of the controls put in place for them daily. The company also recognises a ‘Proud2bSafe’ Employee of the Month.
The company is also proud to be accredited by CHAS, ACHILLES and Construction Line.
An uncompromising approach to safety has resulted in a number of awards from R & M Developments’ trading partners. Here are a sample:
“R & M Developments’ can do attitude, whilst ensuring safety as a priority, has been noted on all the projects they have worked on. They have fully engaged with Kier site staff and other contractors working alongside them.”
“To have the opportunity to engage directly with your MAN airport workforce, with the back drop of deeply personal stories following workplace injuries, was humbling, rewarding and hugely valuable. I personally took a lot away from the session and recognise the HSE leadership R&M have shown in organising this event. You are the first to do this in my tenure at MAG and that does not pass unnoticed. Thank you and please keep working with MAG to drive Vision Zero across all our work.”
