Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has developed a state-of-the-art operational training centre and community safety facility in Bury. They have transformed a 10 acre site to provide the most realistic training and development for firefighters as well as an interactive community facility for local people. The safety centre features a variety of experiences designed to give the public an insight into firefighting and the advice they need to lead safe and healthy lives. Visitors can explore a full size ‘fire house’ which shows a room before and after it has been devastated by flames. People will be able to spot the risks that caused the blaze and test themselves to see how quickly they could escape from a fire.
R & M Developments built the fire house, did substructures, drainage, slabs and external works including flagging and concrete aprons in a contract worth £1.7m.
R and M Developments are a highly proficient and professional contractor that delivered what we perceived to be the most challenging package on a very challenging project
