Installing a Foreign Currency Exchange Retail Bureau in Manchester's T2 Extension.

As part of the newly extended Terminal 2, the centrepiece of the £1bn transformation programme at Manchester Airport, we were awarded the contract to fit out the new foreign currency exchange retail bureau for Travelex. The work was completed over 16 weeks, once the new terminal had been constructed. The different concessionaires had to construct and fit-out their retail units in keeping with MAG’s requirements and systems.

The provision of internal site prefinished hoardings, construction of new walls and linings plus doors and frames as specified, new floor, wall and ceiling finishes. We were also contracted to provide the Mechanical and electrical installation including design, data, lighting, power, fire alarm systems, PAVA, sprinklers and media screen installation.

Another requirement of the work was focussed around the installation of the branding/signage, cash machines, new bureau front and counter. All works were in conjunction with Travelex requirements as well as complying with all of MAG’s requirements and standards. The installation was completed to programme ensuring it was operational for when the new terminal was officially opened in July 2021.
