Providing utility services to Salt Ayre leisure centre

As part of a large ducting contract, we worked alongside ENW to lay 240m of ducting to feed three new substations which ultimately are powered via a new solar wind farm. The scope of works included dealing with the general public with the duct runs crossing a large live car park & crossing numerous existing services that had been recorded via GRP survey prior to starting the works.

  • Location Morecambe, Lancaster
  • Completion Date January 2022
  • Services Provided Utilities Services
  • Project Duration 5 Months

A number of trees had to be felled to make way for two of the new sub-stations close to a public right of way which had to be managed as the works were undertaken. The third sub-station was located in a remote field with no direct access resulting in our team using the faun trackway to access the location. We also took on board the cable pull works by use of cable winch, cable drum trailer & rollers to get all power cables to their locations.
